Given the events of the past weekend, the SCC and GCC leadership felt that it would be timely to resend this information out to our sector partners. Over the next few days, we will continue to forward additional resources as they are available.
On September 30, 2020, the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) and the Multi-State Information Sharing and Analysis Center released a joint Ransomware Guide (https://www.cisa.gov/publication/ransomware-guide), which is a customer centered, one-stop resource with best practices and ways to prevent, protect and/or respond to a ransomware attack. CISA and MS-ISAC are distributing this guide to inform and enhance network defense and reduce exposure to a ransomware attack:
This Ransomware Guide includes two resources:

- Part 2: Ransomware Response Checklist
Also attached for your awareness is the recently published Joint Cybersecurity Advisory from the FBI and DHS CISA on Best Practices for Preventing Business Disruption from Ransomware Attacks.
Victims of ransomware should report it immediately to CISA at https://us-cert.cisa.gov/report, a local FBI Field
Office, or U.S. Secret Service Field Office. To report suspicious or criminal activity related to information found
in this Joint Cybersecurity Advisory, contact your local FBI field office at www.fbi.gov/contact-us/fieldoffices.
When available, please include the following information regarding the incident: date, time, and location
of the incident; type of activity; number of people affected; type of equipment used for the activity; the name of
the submitting company or organization; and a designated point of contact.
You can also report cyber crime incidents to the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). The FBI urges victims to report ransomware incidents to federal law enforcement to help them gain a more comprehensive view of the current threat and its impact on U.S. victims.https://www.ic3.gov/Media/Y2016/PSA160915
